SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Netezza
A convenient way to access your Data Warehouse Appliances
Data Warehouse Appliances are designed to integrate the database, server and storage into one unit. They are designed to reduce or eliminate the complexities associated with the installation, configuration, initialization and administration of the hardware, operating system and appliance software, all while processing terabytes of data with claims of extreme scalability. (SAS users may access these appliances using SAS/ACCESS to ODBC, but will benefit from advanced capabilities as new vendor-specific SAS/ACCESS interfaces are released.)
SAS/ACCESS Interface to Netezza is an out-of-the-box solution that provides direct connectivity between SAS and the Netezza NPS Server, leveraging their utilities for optimized loads and extracts.
SAS/ACCESS Interface to Netezza supports two means of integration: the LIBNAME engine and the Pass-Through Facility. The LIBNAME engine provides a seamless and transparent way to surface data and requires minimal knowledge of the data and the SQL required for surfacing it. While the Pass-Through Facility provides much greater flexibility, it requires that users provide the SQL statements that will be passed to their server.
The interface is supported on the following platforms for SAS® 9.1.3:
- AIX
- HP-UX Itanium
- HP-UX PA-RISC
- Linux for x86 (x86-32)
- Windows 32-bit
