Applying for Summer Jobs

For more than 20 years, SAS has offered summer employment opportunities to college students. The company will have a variety of opportunities in various divisions once again in 2006. Students who are currently enrolled on at least a half-time basis in classes for credit toward a degree or diploma beyond high school are eligible to apply.

Candidates must meet the specific job requirements of individual job postings. Students hired to work at SAS this summer (May through August) will work 35 hours per week. Most of these student positions are in Cary, but there may be a few positions in some regional offices. Please check the job posting to determine where the position is located. Students wishing to be considered for positions located in any of the SAS offices must assume all interview, travel, and housing costs.

Job listings may be posted on SAS' employment Web site as early as mid-February and will continue to be listed as needs develop. Students will be required to submit a resume and application for each job in which they are interested via the online application process by the closing date indicated on each job posting.

Tips for Success

  • The SAS Web page is updated daily. Interested students should check the job listings daily or several times a week as time permits.

  • When conducting a "keyword search" please utilize the word "student" for best results.

  • We do not currently use a database to search for resumes, so students should apply for each job of interest.

Although there are several a.k.a titles, there are three general categories for student positions:
  • Technical Student: duties include performing technical duties such as programming or testing for a specific project.

  • Administrative Student: duties include performing administrative work for a manager or department such as editing, graphics, writing, marketing, personnel, law, recreation/fitness, or childcare.

  • Service Support Student: duties include performing manual labor which may include landscaping, food service, or other areas involving service support.

Once an application has been received online, candidates who are selected for interviews will be contacted.
