SAS University Scholarship Programs
Today's students will be the workforce of the future, and they will need to be successful to maintain a competitive edge in our global, knowledge-based economy.
The Charles H. Dunham Scholarship
Charles H. Dunham was one of the first 25 people hired at SAS in 1980. In 1984 he was named director of the data center and in 1988 was appointed Vice President of the Information Systems Division. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1975, where he was a math and computer science major.
Charlie died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 26, 2002. He was 48 years old. The Information Systems Division and SAS set up a merit-based scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Charlie’s memory. The recipient is selected by the faculty of the computer science department and must be given to a rising junior. A $3,000.00 tuition credit is awarded. SAS also provides a paid internship.
