ESRI
The partnership between SAS, the market leader in business intelligence, and ESRI, the leader in geographic information systems (GIS) software, will significantly increase the customers' ability to deliver intelligence in spatially enabled applications. Both advanced analytics and spatial relationships are key elements in solving problems that need to physically evaluate location as part of strategic decision-making.
To address customer-driven demand, SAS and ESRI are creating an integration product between the companies' software. This joint product development will give organizations the ability to exchange spatial and attribute data and metadata between Arc GIS and the SAS server in a GUI-driven environment. Leveraging the work done to-date, the companies are developing a tight integration between their respective technologies.

Established in 1969, ESRI has GIS software installed at more than 300,000 client sites, with more than 1,000,000 users worldwide. The company's goal is to provide users with comprehensive tools to help them quickly and efficiently manage and use geographic information to make a real difference in the world around them. Since early 2001, SAS and ESRI have been working together to jointly solve customer business questions. This new relationship will introduce products that will allow joint customers to stay in their existing SAS or ESRI environments, and be able to access data and applications from either provider.
The SAS and ESRI union will enable organizations to apply best-of-breed technology to solve business questions that inherently consider the impact of spatial relationships as part of the intelligence creation process. The combined power and flexibility which SAS and ESRI will be able to offer will set a new standard in the industry.
