The Analytics Research and Development team focuses on the development of the Analytics associated part of the SAS Viya platform and helps accomplish the mission through:

Developing SAS Visual Forecasting Software, which helps generate large numbers of trustworthy forecasts quickly and automatically using time series and machine learning techniques.
Developing SAS Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning software that helps solve the most complex analytical problems with a single, integrated, collaborative solution – with its own automated modeling API.
Developing SAS procedures that help customers address their various statistical and analytical needs through simple, reliable offerings.

SAS9

SAS9 division in Pune is primarily focused on prioritising the customer issues resolution and development and release process for all the SAS Platform products. There is a focused effort on making the SAS Platform secure by adapting and supporting the industry standard security like default TLS, multi-factor authentication, FIPS compliance, etc.

Data Management and Platform Services

At Data Management and Platform services, we primarily focus on core technologies of SAS. We are responsible for developing building blocks for data management through product and component ownership in Unified Data Layer, Data Exploration, Data Import and Data Transformations.

This area helps our customers to connect to the data, explore the data, and import it within SAS Viya environment and while doing data is also transformed as the need of the analysis to be conducted. We also build those data transformation as a part of our SAS Studio product.
Primary technology that is used in data management is full stack development that primarily focuses on Go, ReactJS, JavaScript, Playwright, Python, Java, Cloud, and SAS Viya Platform.
In the Viya4 architecture, platform services lie at the foundation level and are responsible for providing necessary services to all the products and solutions of SAS.
Teams own many of the core services in this area as well as they contribute other non-functional requirements of SAS Viya4 software such as multitenancy, backup recovery, migration etc. This is highly technologically savvy area focusing on technologies of Kubernetes, Cloud, Go, Python, Java, SAS Viya Platform etc.

Applied AI and Modeling (AAIM)

The Applied AI and Modeling (AAIM) team focuses on developing analytics models as products across various domains, including Healthcare, Life Sciences, Banking, Fraud, IoT, Retail, CPG, and Insurance. These models leverage advanced analytics techniques such as AI, GenAI, ML, DL, and Optimization, and can be implemented in multiple programming languages like SAS, Python, and R, based on project requirements.

Additionally, the team plays a key role in presales demonstrations, consulting, and implementation, actively contributing to accelerating sales and driving business growth.

In Pune, we develop and maintain the Analytics for IoT product suite, and Energy Forecasting for Cloud. AIoT is a platform to analyze, forecast, and optimize the quality, operations, and production in a manufacturing facility. Energy Forecasting solution can be used to forecast load and generation, in traditional power setting, or renewable facilities.
