Ensley Tan

Ensley Tan brings over 21 years of experience primarily in national security and intelligence. At the Singapore Ministry of Defence, he was the Head of Strategic Research for defence and military issues, where he worked with the Singapore Armed Forces as well as partner agencies around the world. His last role before joining SAS was as Head of Technology Transformation, working with IT to bring solutions to users. Ensley also worked for a while as a fraud investigator and consultant in the private sector, during which he conducted hundreds of corporate investigations throughout the Asia Pacific. This has given him knowledge of the legal, regulatory and operational challenges faced by various organizations. Ensley has worked with ground-level officers, agency leads as well as Ministers and C-suite executives on their problems and needs. He is passionate about using analytics to support data-driven decisions and thereby finding real solutions for serious problems.

Ensley explored the strategic balance between driving digital transformation and maintaining operational stability. Addressing the common challenge of "keeping the lights on" while innovating, he shared frameworks for integrating advanced AI and analytics into existing workflows without disruption. He included actionable guidance on navigating skill shortages and bridging the gap between technical execution and policy goals. Highlighting the power of structured experimentation and low-code solutions, he demonstrated how organizations can accelerate innovation and deliver immediate value.
