Frequently Asked Questions About Pearson VUE

Who is Pearson VUE?

Pearson VUE provides computer-based testing for information technology, academic, government and professional testing programs around the world. Pearson VUE provides a full suite of testing-industry services and delivers exams through a comprehensive and secure network of test centers in 175 countries. Pearson VUE is a business of Pearson (NYSE: PSO; LSE: PSON), the international media company, whose businesses include the Financial Times Group, Pearson Education and the Penguin Group.

Why do I have two accounts with Pearson VUE?

Candidates create a web account with Pearson VUE that provides access to exam information, including the ability to produce score reports taken with Pearson VUE, schedule exams and cancel exams.

Once candidates have taken an exam, they also have access to the Certification Records Management System, which allows them to view certification history, update personal information, print certificates and publish credentials to employers.

What is the admission process for SAS® Global Certification exam takers through Pearson VUE?

The admission process when taking SAS Global Certification exams at a Pearson VUE site includes enhanced security measures. Two forms of ID, including a picture ID with signature, are required. In addition, examinees will be photographed and asked to provide a digital signature. The photograph and signature will become a permanent part of each candidate's certification record. All candidate data will be securely stored and protected by Pearson VUE and SAS. This information will not be shared with other parties. Candidates need to preregister for exams by phone or online only and cannot register directly at a Pearson VUE testing center.

What are the benefits of capturing digital photos and signatures?

This ensures that SAS Global Certification credentials maintain their integrity and value within the marketplace. Employers will have increased assurance that the person presenting a SAS credential is the same individual who took the exam.

How do I register for an exam at Pearson VUE?

If you are a first-time registrant for SAS Global Certification exams, you will need to create a web account within Pearson VUE. It can take up to two business days to receive your user name and password. You may only register with Pearson VUE online or by phone. Pearson VUE authorized test centers cannot take registrations at their locations.

On the Pearson VUE registration page, there are two sections: one for taking an exam at a Pearson VUE testing center, and one for a SAS sponsored testing center. Unless you are scheduled at a SAS testing event in a SAS office, you will always use the Pearson VUE testing center link.
