Analytical Consultant in Forecasting and Optimization Team

SAS Institute LLC is seeking an experienced professional for the position of an Analytical Consultant. As an Analytical Consultant you will provide analytical services to current Customers. You will participate in end-to-end projects, which will include identifying data analysis needs, processing and exploring client data, translating business requirements into analytic methods, building analytic models, developing analysis reports, and presenting reports to Customers. Primary fields are mathematical optimization and forecasting.

Responsibilities:

  • Become proficient in the use of SAS software focusing on SAS Forecast Studio, SAS Econometrics, SAS Optimization, SAS/STAT and other SAS software related to data analytics
  • Conduct project requirements gathering
  • Develop decision support tools based on forecasting and optimization models to meet Customer requirements
  • Analyze mathematical optimization and simulation results as well as forecasts accuracy and develop technical reports and presentations
  • Support data acquisition, validation, and management from data sources
  • Work as a member of a project team

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Mathematics area (Operations Research, (Applied) Mathematics, (Applied) Statistics, Industrial Engineering or other relevant disciplines)
  • 2 years of experience in analytical projects, preferably in forecasting and/or mathematical optimization
  • Required technical skills include: econometrics; linear programming and integer programming
  • Preferred technical skills include: nonlinear programming, economics, approximation and dynamic programming
  • Experience with at least one mathematical programming language (e.g. AIMMS, GAMS, AMPL, Mosel, OPL) is preferred
  • Experience with SAS / R / Python / Matlab etc. in terms of using solvers (e.g. Gurobi, CPLEX) and time series models (auto.arima, prophet…)
  • Good SQL knowledge
  • Hands-on skills to work with Project Documents (Business Requirements Definition Document, User Guides, etc.)
  • Ability to manage with stress situations, attentiveness, accuracy
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly (verbally and in writing)
  • English language skills at Intermediate or higher
