Managing Director, SAS UK & Ireland
Ian Manocha is the managing director of SAS UK and Ireland and head of SAS' international public security business. As vice president of SAS, Manocha is also a member of the SAS Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia Pacific Executive Board. SAS UK and Ireland is the largest subsidiary and contributor to SAS worldwide revenues, outside of the United States. SAS is one of the largest software companies in the world and the leader in business analytics software and services. SAS software helps enable faster, better decision making through analysis of vast and growing amounts of data. SAS simplifies big data management and enables businesses to derive insights from all of their data, from across their business. Manocha joined SAS UK in 1996 to develop the company's regional operations. He moved to the head office in 2000 to take up the position of UK Sales Director. In 2005, Manocha became responsible for the direction of SAS' financial services business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Then in 2007, he moved to Vienna, where as managing director of SAS Austria he was responsible for major customers across Central and Eastern Europe. A civil engineer with a military background, Manocha entered the business technology world around 25 years ago when he joined ICL (now Fujitsu), where he initially worked on government and defence contracts followed by a focus on the insurance industry. This was followed by a career at Unisys, where he gained experience in the banking sector. Manocha is in demand for his understanding of the transformative power of predictive analytics, and is passionate that leaders seize the opportunity to optimise their organisation's performance by fully exploiting their data assets. Manocha holds a BSc Honours degree in Civil Engineering from Southampton University.
