WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?
The Professional Services Development Programme is a solid foundation upon which you can build your career as a SAS Consultant. It includes exceptional training and development, early responsibility as well as the support of a professional team.
SAS Professional Services Consultants are tasked with implementing complex technical solutions for, and with, our customers. This means that you could find yourself working on an IT project for a major Bank in the city dealing with the complexities of anti-fraud initiatives, or implementing a customer retention system using the latest in Marketing Automation systems for a high street retailer. The scope and opportunity is almost endless.
Variety and challenge is at the heart of this career choice. You will have the opportunity to use and implement world class Business Intelligence solutions with world leading organisations. Our customers are located all over the UK and therefore travel is a key feature of this role - you may spend three months working on a project in London, followed by 6 months in Leeds - variety truly comes with the territory with this career choice and applicants need to be able to show a high degree of flexibility and be ready to adapt fast to new technologies, workplaces and people.
THE PROGRAMME
The first six months: intensive SAS training at our UK headquarters covers everything from Base SAS code to Data Integration, Business Intelligence and Solution Architecture. Developing your Consultancy skills is also an important element.
Placements: after initial training you'll put your knowledge into practice during placements in our Professional Services Division - working in Customer Support, Education and the Project Support Office.
Delivering results: you will join Implementation Project teams working alongside or shadowing Senior Consultants to deliver complex technical business solutions.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Successful applicants will have:
- A strong technical background with a degree in a relevant subject (for example, Computer Science, IT)
- Computer Programming experience, skills or knowledge (for example, JAVA, J2EE, SQL etc)
- A passion for technology and the ability to learn quickly
- Ambition and motivation to achieve career goals
- A 'can do' attitude
- An interest in and understanding of how organisations operate and issues facing them today
- The flexibility and mobility to work throughout the UK
