“As an international student, getting a chance at internships is a real challenge for most. Thanks to SAS summer internship program and my SAS skillset I learn from my University courses, I was able to gain a well rounded experience by interning full time at one of the major financial organisation. Besides learning the technical analytics skills, the internship helped me pickup a lot of soft skills such as team work, regular meetings, jargons, presentations and communicating in a work environment. Besides that I was able to experience and integrate myself with the mindset of Australian Work Culture.”
“I was fortunate enough to get my work placement opportunity at ME (Members Equity) Bank's Melbourne office through SAS Work Placement program. It was my first experience working at a bank, and it just couldn't have been better. SAS Work Placement team did an amazing job in matching my skill set to the skills required by ME Bank, which made my transition to work all the more easier. I was able to utilize all of my learning from my Master of Business Analytics course at La Trobe Business School at ME Bank on an everyday basis.
The internship helped me immensely to get my hands on with the bank's data warehouse, concepts of which were taught to me in my course. Needless to say, ME Bank's Risk team was really supportive in helping me understand their work and also take my inputs in aligning possible analytics to make the insights all the more meaningful. The final insights of my work that I presented at the end of my internship, gave me immense confidence and motivation, and helped me understand that data analytics indeed goes a long way in transforming businesses.”

“My experience with SAS started in 2015, the tool was introduced when my previous employer implemented this new software to update the internal analytics power and data storage system. I realized we don't have to conduct all the calculation and visualization through Excel sheets anymore.
Through my previous enjoyable encounter with SAS, I quickly applied through the SAS Placement Program when I started job searching for last summer. Through the twelve weeks I was able to I was able to work on projects which were building repositories through raw data sets after data cleaning and basic summary statistics generation. Together with interaction with colleagues in the office this experience equipped me with both hard skills in operating analytics software and soft skills in stakeholder connection, effective communication and teamwork. I would highly recommend this program to related personnel".

“SAS Workplace Program has been one of the most valuable experiences for me. Unlike the classroom learning, it allowed me to my first exposure to large datasets. During the three months internship, I have acquired valuable skills such as data preparation, data manipulation and building models. Consequently, I could build and implement my first predictive model. Honestly, I would like to divide my analytics journey into two parts one before SAS Workplace Program, where I had limited analytical skills and knowledge; and another SAS Workplace Program which has polished me to take up any type of analytical task. Also, one of the benefits which I gained from this Program is valuable mentorship from leading analytics professionals at the workplace. The platform provided by this internship is highly valuable as it has increased my confidence, practical knowledge and most importantly the much-required analytical skills. I thank SAS for providing me such a great opportunity which has potentially changed how I do analytics.”

I am humbled to work for SAS and be given the opportunity to work at the forefront of high performance Data Management, Data Quality and Analytics (amongst many other areas).
The SAS graduate program provided me with the theory and skills to become a valuable technical member of the A/NZ consulting team.
I was fortunate enough to be part of the 2017 Graduate intake. The main reason I was excited by the program was the opportunity to learn and the graduate program delivered in spades. Within the first few months, we were trained in over 5 SAS Products, completed over 10 SAS training courses and received 4 Global SAS certifications. I have worked in a couple of companies prior to this position and I can confidently say that this experience has been one of a kind. It hasn’t just been all work and no fun either, I’ve met amazing people on this journey and am sure to meet some in the years ahead.
While studying at UTS, I worked part-time at a restaurant to sustain myself, and later landed up a job as a Software Engineer in a startup. A two-year stay in Sydney has taught me that hard work, dedication, inquisitiveness takes you miles. I came to know about this job opportunity via LinkedIn. After undergoing four intensive interview sessions with various department heads and SME’s, I was offered the role to become the part of SAS family from January 2017 as one of the four graduates selected across two states of NSW & Victoria.
I came to SAS through the Graduate Program in 2017. Upon starting, it quickly became evident that the SAS culture is one of the driving forces that set SAS apart from other companies. Right away, I felt enveloped and valued by the community there. It allowed me to grow and gain confidence in the new abundance of skills I had learned. I believe that it is a fundamental part of SAS that gives its employees the motivation to work harder and the ability to work cohesively with each other.
SAS was present throughout my statistics degree, both here in Australia and when I was overseas on exchange. Therefore, as an aspiring data scientist, I choose to apply for a position at SAS not only due to this huge global presence in the analytics landscape but also its renowned great workplace culture. Once I started the Graduate Program it was clear that SAS places a high value on its employees, not only through the money and time they invest in employees to train them up, but also in how they work with you to help shape your career in the direction you want it to go. I am really excited to see where my career with SAS will take me.
The learning opportunities have been very extensive from the beginning of the graduate programme. I had training on many SAS products, experienced different technologies as well as gained insight on the future of analytics right from the very beginning. I am excited that the graduate programme has rotations where I get to work with different teams and engage with a variety of customers, all whilst feeling well supported with the genuine SAS culture. I look forward to seeing firsthand how SAS as a leader in analytics is used to solve business problems for companies that are leaders in their industries.

When I chose to switch career path from engineering to data analytics, my mind was set on joining SAS because of its global presence in the analytics field. I knew when I was accepted into the SAS Graduate Program 2018 that the learning opportunities that I would get would be huge and invaluable. The program is well structured and is preparing me to have a successful career.
Having been with SAS for 6 months now, I thoroughly enjoyed that every day is not the same, I learn something new every time and I am looking forward to experiencing different aspects of SAS through the various rotations in the Graduate Program.
I first learned about SAS at university through a mathematics course which I thoroughly enjoyed as I found the SAS software to be very effective and intuitive to use. I was interested in a career where I could work with data analytics technology like what I had used at university, so I applied for SAS. SAS’ graduate program is well structured to equip me with the skills and experiences I need for a successful career. I have received extensive training in SAS’ wide array of software, which I get to apply to real projects, solve business problems and gain practical experience as I rotate through different teams in the business. In the 6 months I have been with SAS, I am constantly learning about the business, the new technologies, and also about myself – what my strengths and interests are and where I want to see myself in the future at SAS.
The ANZ SAS graduate program has a unique structure that gives graduates the flexibility and opportunity to excel at the area that best meets their skills.
