SAS again named among Best Workplaces for Women

Analytics leader and workplace culture pioneer lauded for commitment to employees

Consistently recognized for its groundbreaking workplace culture and commitment to employees, analytics leader SAS has once again been named a Best Workplace for Women by Fortune magazine.

Women represent half of the SAS workforce in the US, including 40 percent of leadership positions. SAS actively develops and engages women within the company, offering training, consultation, mentoring and networking opportunities that address the needs of women in the workplace. Programs like the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) empower, encourage and inspire women to pursue excellence in their careers. WIN members also serve as ambassadors for SAS in area schools and businesses, and advocates for careers in science and technology.

“We rely on the diverse talents and creative minds of over 14,000 global employees,” said Jenn Mann, SAS Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. “Whether they are a young professional, recent grad or working mom in a leadership position, it’s important that they feel nurtured and supported to be successful.”

The list considered more than 400,000 employee surveys from hundreds of businesses in all sectors of the economy. The ranking gauged women’s assessment of their organizations’ culture, leadership, fairness and other elements essential for a great workplace.

"The Best Workplaces for Women deserve recognition for crafting environments where men and women alike can bring their best selves to work each day,” said Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work.

A pioneer in workplace culture for more than 40 years, SAS has set the standard by fostering an environment that helps employees balance their careers and personal lives. Perks particularly beneficial to working mothers include subsidized child care, meals to go, parenting workshops, lactation consultants, and work/life counselors and seminars. Add access to the free on-site health care center with a full-service pharmacy, and myriad on-site convenience services, and it’s clear why SAS appeals so strongly to all job seekers.

A staple on Fortune’s list of Best Companies to Work For in the US since the list’s inception, SAS’ culture recognition extends globally, with regular appearances on Great Place to Work’s lists of top multinational workplaces as well as on individual country listings worldwide. SAS also was recently named among the 2017 Best Places to Work for Recent Grads and Fortune’s Best Places to Work for Millennials.
