SAS Germany in the Top 10

SAS Germany is one of the most popular employers in Germany, coming in 10th on the Great Place to Work list among companies of up to 500 employees

SAS is one of the most popular employers in Germany, coming in 10th on "Germany's Best Employers 2017" list published by the Great Place to Work Institute. SAS was ranked in the category of companies up to 500 employees.

The company came in at No. 5 among companies in the information and telecommunications sector.

SAS has been one of the best employers in Germany for years. Only recently, the Great Place to Work Institute named SAS as the best employer in Baden-Württemberg. The topics of employee promotion and workplace culture have played a central role in the company since its beginnings.

SAS offers its employees maximum support, both professionally and privately. This ranges from child care to legal counseling to health promotion. In addition, flexible working models as well as initiatives for education and training are offered. The company also promotes sports and culture at the SAS locations, including major events such as the SAS Halbmarathon or the "Enjoy Jazz" festival in Heidelberg, the headquarters of the SAS Deutschlandzentrale, well beyond the Rhine-Neckar region.

"The formula is quite simple: people do good work when they like to work...and if they have a framework that gives them the opportunity to develop,” said Patric Märki, Vice President of the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) Region.

"In order to shape these basic conditions, SAS is very involved -- both in general and in dialogue -- with each individual employee,” Märki said. “The result [is] a work environment that conveys pleasure and promotes a constructive cooperation -- and this is not an end in itself. The bottom line is that this business culture serves the achievement of business objectives and thus forms an important basis for the long-term success of SAS.”

The concept of lifelong learning plays an important role in employee satisfaction, according to Dorothea Schwalbach, Senior Director of Human Resources for the DACH Region.

“Further development and qualification are always on the agenda here,” aid Schwalbach. “With appropriate further training measures, we ensure that our employees are always up-to-date. This is how we offer employees exactly what they and SAS need.”
