Computerworld names SAS among 2017 Best Places to Work in IT

For more than 40 years, SAS has set the standard for creating an innovative environment coupled with work/life balance to draw – and retain – top talent. With a focus on collaboration and a belief that happy, healthy employees are productive employees, SAS continues to attract the best talent in the industry. Continually melding the thrill of challenging work with company values and employee-friendly benefits, SAS has long been recognized globally as a top employer. Most recently, the analytics leader has once again been named one of Computerworld’s Best Places to Work in IT.

Computerworld annually recognizes companies that offer challenging work, competitive salaries and great benefits to IT workers. SAS’ supportive, collaborative work environment allows and encourages the IT staff – which supports productivity globally – to create new and exciting solutions for the business and its customers.

“Our exceptionally creative employees are more than a loyal, dedicated workforce; they’re the driving force behind SAS’ consistent innovation and growth. Maintaining a culture where they feel valued and nurtured is a top priority for us,” said SAS Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer Keith Collins.

Long recognized for providing the kind of environment top IT professionals seek, SAS culture is a key contributor to high employee retention rates and overall employee satisfaction. In addition to exceptional benefits, SAS amenities include free on-site health care, subsidized daycare, a free recreation and fitness center, and subsidized gourmet cafes.

To identify the top 100 workplaces for IT, Computerworld surveyed 450 qualifying companies about salaries and benefits, retention, diversity and other employment statistics and programs. Separately, researchers surveyed a random sample of participating companies’ IT staff. The employee survey inquired about satisfaction with training and development, compensation, benefits and work/life balance. Employees also rated morale in their organizations.

“As technology moves to the strategic center of every business, the ability of the enterprise to attract and retain skilled IT talent has become critically important,” says Ken Mingis, Executive Editor at Computerworld. “The 100 organizations on our 2017 Best Places to Work in IT list keep their tech employees happy and engaged by offering generous salaries, top-notch benefits, continuous training, and access to cutting-edge technologies. In empowering their tech workforce, these firms gain competitive advantage, and we applaud them for their achievements.”
