Congratulations to SAS Greece customers COSMOTE, National Bank of Greece and Athens Water Supply and Sewerage Company, which were awarded Business IT Excellence (BITE) Awards for 2017, for achieving success with SAS® solutions.

“We are proud that our customers provided evidence to the BITE committee for the value and impact of the SAS solutions implemented at their organizations.” --Nikos Peppas

This is the sixth year in a row that the Electronic Commerce Laboratory of Athens University of Economics & Business organized the awards, which reward companies from the private and public sectors for the most impactful, innovative practices and projects using information and communication technologies. The companies received the awards at an evening celebration of creativity, innovation and best performance practices.

COSMOTE, the biggest telecom provider in Greece, received the “GOLD BITE Award 2017” in the Business Intelligence & Analytics category for the “Latency Analytics – Correlating Crowdsourced and Network Measurements for Enhanced Planning Insights”. The Athens Water Supply and Sewerage Company, the largest Greek enterprise in its sector, received the “GOLD BITE Award 2017” in the Intrinsic Information Systems for Automation of Procedures category for “Initial Implementation of the Management System through Objectives.” The National Bank of Greece, the largest bank in the country, was awarded the “SILVER BITE Award 2017” in the Business Intelligence & Analytics category for the “Retail Banking Customer Analytics with SAS”.

George Doukidis, Professor at the Athens University of Economics and Business and also Director at the eBusiness Research Center of the University, conceived of the awards and leads the selection committee. The committee also includes representatives from recognized public and private organizations and institutes, such as the Hellenic Professional Informatics Society (HePIS), Federation of Hellenic ICT Enterprises, CIO Forum, IT Service Management Forum (itSMF), ISACA Athens Chapter, British Computer Society (BCS) and more.

The SAS customers participated in the competition on their own initiative, and the evaluation was based on multiple criteria such as innovation level, importance for the industry, benefits for the organization and partners, alignment with organizational strategy, etc.

The firms used the cutting-edge software solutions provided by SAS to achieve success in a field where the competition has risen and risks have been gradually increased.

SAS Greece has achieved nothing less. In these times of economic depression and business uncertainty, the company has succeeded in surpassing all the challenges that its customers have faced. Under the direction of Country Manager Nikos Peppas, with input by the staff, SAS Greece has been able to meet the requirements set by its customers, as evidenced by the BITE awards.

“It was a great honor for SAS Greece that our customers decided to participate at this well-known and locally recognized awards -- The BITE awards 2017!” Peppas said.

“Moreover, we are proud that our customers provided evidence to the BITE committee of the value and impact of the SAS solutions implemented at their organizations,” Peppas added. “At SAS we always strive to excel in regard to the software and services that we offer to our clients, delivering innovation and high-quality expertise through our well-trained and experienced personnel.”
