PANEL DISCUSSION - Leaders in the Age of AI: From Innovation to Responsible Decisions
This conversation focuses on responsible leadership at a time when technology is increasingly shaping not only competitive advantage but also the overall resilience of organizations. AI is entering a new phase of business validation - moving beyond experimentation for its own sake and into an era defined by questions of real value, cost predictability, and control over strategic assets. During the panel, business leaders will share how they approach investments in data and AI amid growing regulatory demands, the need for greater digital sovereignty, and increasing pressure to deliver measurable ROI. The discussion will explore how to build modern technology environments without falling into extremes - balancing on-premises and cloud solutions, flexibility and control, rapid deployment and long-term value - and how to ensure the right level of oversight for data, models, and AI-driven decision-making processes.

Overview of innovations in Risk, Fraud & Compliance Solutions
Geopolitical volatility, rising customer expectations around products and pricing, mounting regulatory pressure, and the escalation of fraud threats - these forces are simultaneously shaping the business landscape and defining the day-to-day priorities of executives responsible for Risk, Anti-Fraud, and Compliance. At the core lies a shared dilemma: how to make fast decisions that are both commercially sound and robust under regulatory scrutiny. The answer lies in technology that is no longer a promise but a reality. Responsible AI, dynamic risk profiling, and the automation of decision-making processes are now entering a phase of tangible implementation - transforming not only the speed but also the quality of decisions at both strategic and operational levels. We will explore how the latest SAS solutions address these challenges - and what this means for organizations aiming to be profitable, secure, and fully compliant.

How can a bank’s balance sheet be effectively managed? ALM risk management challenges vs. the potential of Generative AI
Asset and Liability Management (ALM) is one of the core management processes in a bank. In practice, it addresses fundamental questions: what can we achieve with our balance sheet, in which direction should it evolve, and what kind of product offering should we build - all while maintaining regulatory compliance. The spectrum of risks that must be managed effectively is broad. It ranges from interest rate risk and liquidity risk, through market risk, to customer behavior risk - often deviating significantly from rational models - as well as legal, regulatory, and increasingly important geopolitical risks. The calculations themselves are highly complex: forecasting models for a dynamic balance sheet, multiple scenarios for customer behavior and market changes, millions of data points, and limited time for decision-making. This raises an important question: Is ALM a natural domain for applying AI? And if so, where exactly should it be deployed - at the operational level, or rather as conceptual and decision-making support?

Fireside Chat: Przeciwdziałanie nadużyciom w VeloBank - teraźniejszość i przyszłość

Data, Models, Trust: How AI Is Transforming Credit Risk and Fraud Prevention
AI is simultaneously reshaping two critical areas: how banks assess whom to lend to, and how they verify who is truly on the other side of the screen. In credit risk assessment, models are becoming increasingly accurate but also more difficult to interpret, while regulators and customers expect transparency and a clear understanding of the decisions being made. In fraud prevention, traditional rule-based approaches are proving less effective, as fraudulent activity can now mimic legitimate user behavior, leading real customers to unknowingly authorize transactions. At the same time, new threats are emerging, including deepfakes, cloned voices, and AI agents acting on behalf of users. In this session, Piotr Wojewnik will explore how Polish Credit Bureau and Digital Fingerprints approach the use of AI across both domains: where advanced analytics and machine learning genuinely enhance the quality and security of credit decisions, how behavioral biometrics supports systems where traditional rules fall short, and where, despite the excitement surrounding AI, human oversight and caution remain essential.
Piotr Wojewnik, Member of the Board DFP S.A., Data Science Director, BIK S.A.

Fraud Prevention at VeloBank – Present and Future
Fraud is evolving faster than the processes designed to prevent it. Banks must simultaneously protect customers and their funds, sustain business momentum, and preserve a seamless customer experience - yet in the era of instant payments, these three objectives are increasingly at odds. This conversation moves beyond high-level declarations into practical realities. Marek Korulczyk will share the real challenges faced today by VeloBank’s anti-fraud teams - across both payments and lending - what has proven effective in production, and where he sees the greatest potential for advanced analytics and AI over the next 2–3 years.
Marek Korulczyk, Director of the Security Department, VeloBank

PANEL DISCUSSION - AI Reality Check: Wins, Losses, and Lessons Learned
Artificial intelligence has firmly established itself across organizations - from sales and marketing to operations, customer service, risk management, and fraud detection. Today, the key question is no longer whether to adopt AI, but how to implement it effectively within specific processes and real business environments. Poland is among the fastest adopters of AI in Europe. However, as highlighted in the IDC report, many organizations still apply AI in isolated use cases, without translating it into long-term operational transformation. This is why practical experience is becoming increasingly important: what truly works in real-world implementations, and what remains only a promise? During this panel, we will give the floor to practitioners - experts who implement AI solutions across various business areas on a daily basis and navigate the real challenges that come with it.
