SAS Learning Report
August 2019

Dear Reader,

It seems that the integration between SAS, R, and Python is all the rage! And, why not? It is a big deal! To fuel your thirst, here are a few items you may not have seen: Have you read this insightful blog about using Python functions inside SAS programs? For more in-depth reading, check out SAS® Viya®: The R Perspective and SAS® Viya®: The Python Perspective. These are both general-purpose introduction books to using R and Python with SAS Viya. While SAS Viya can be used by various SAS applications, it also enables you to access analytic methods from SAS, Python, Lua, and Java, as well as through a REST interface using HTTP or HTTPS. These books introduce an entirely new way of using SAS statistics from step-by-step instructions to using R and the Python client on SAS Viya. Both books are great for novice and experienced users.

If you’re more of a visual learner, register for the Sept. 12 free webinarHave Your Cake and Eat It Too, with R, Python + SAS. Tune in to this webinar to see how to give your developers the best of both worlds: the comfort of their preferred languages and the advantages of SAS to scale results without code rewrites. Happy learning!
