SAS at PHUSE EU Connect 2026

Accelerate Clinical Research & Regulatory Submission with Trusted AI and Automation

15–18 November 2026 Glasgow, Scotland

Discover how SAS is helping life sciences teams reduce manual effort, improve traceability and move clinical data from preparation to analysis and submission with greater speed and confidence. Meet our experts, explore practical demonstrations and join sessions focused on governed analytics, synthetic data, open development and transparent clinical workflows.

A typical Phase 3 protocol now collects close to six million data points, yet much of that burden never supports a primary safety or efficacy endpoint. As AI automates more programming tasks, statistical programmers will shift from writing code to applying scientific judgement, directing analyses and standing behind results. Less programming, more scientific authority. That is the role that will matter most in clinical development by 2030.

These are exactly the conversations we're looking forward to having with our long-standing PHUSE community. It's also why SAS Clinical Acceleration is built to support that shift, providing a validated, GxP-compliant environment where SAS, R and Python operate under a single governance model, with every result reproducible and traceable back to source. That foundation gives organisations the confidence to adopt agentic AI and future intelligent systems while maintaining regulatory integrity.'

FROM SAS CODE TO CDISC LINEAGE: BUILDING TRANSPARENT AND AUDITABLE WORKFLOWS

Understanding and documenting complex SAS workflows can often feel like untangling spaghetti code, time-consuming, error-prone, and difficult to communicate. In this hands-on workshop, we transform that challenge into clarity by building a modern web application that automatically converts SAS programs into intuitive lineage diagrams.

Participants will learn how to reverse engineer SAS workflows into structured, traceable representations aligned with CDISC standards. By translating code into end-to-end lineage graphs, the application generates a “visual DNA” of SAS pipelines, making dependencies, transformations, and data flows transparent and auditable. The session will demonstrate how to bridge the gap between raw SAS code and CDISC traceability maps, enabling better collaboration, regulatory readiness, and faster validation cycles.

Attendees will actively work through practical examples and build their own lineage visualization pipeline from scratch.

In addition, the workshop is designed as an interactive exchange: we will actively gather participant feedback on requirements, expectations, and best practices for lineage in real-world statistical programming environments, helping to shape future development and industry approaches.

This workshop is designed for statistical programmers who want to enhance transparency, traceability, and productivity in their SAS environments. Participants are expected to bring their own laptops to actively engage in the hands-on exercises.
