SAS HBCU+ Fellows Program

Supporting educators with resources to integrate analytics into the classroom

The SAS HBCU+ Fellows Program supports educators at historically Black colleges and universities and predominantly Black institutions by helping integrate analytical tools into their academic programs.

Those who are selected for the HBCU+ Fellows Program receive customized curriculum planning and technical guidance, opportunities to network with technical experts and more. Fellows participate in quarterly training and professional development events designed to advance their analytics skills and discover resources for teaching analytics in their respective disciplines.

The HBCU+ Fellows Program is part of SAS Academic Programs.

The SAS HBCU+ Fellows Program will not be accepting applications for the 2026 cycle as we take time to strengthen our strategy to better reach and support more faculty and students across minority-serving institutions.

We appreciate your interest and understanding. If you're seeking support using SAS for teaching and learning, please contact us at academic@sas.com.

  • In every job and every field – from social work to English – analytics and data are somehow going to be pulled into it. Students need to be literate with data and comfortable with data, and they need to understand what are the opportunities that are out there for them. Gregory Ramsey Associate Professor Morgan State University
  • I really like the way the program is structured. That you have a lot of resources that are available for training, for faculty as well as for students. We meet with the cohort, so we really learn from them as well. Pamela Queen Professor Morgan State University
  • For faculty, it’s important in order to stay current and keep our curriculum up-to-date – I think this program will be most helpful. It’s a great opportunity to update your skills and not only engage your students, but also teach them skills that they’ll need going forward. Joni Jackson Associate Professor Chicago State University
  • One of my fears was my skill set not being up to date. I found out through the SAS HBCU+ Fellows Program that yes, I can catch up because there are so many resources out there, and the mentors that you have. I am able to catch up. Minnette Bumpus Associate Professor Bowie State University
