Chad Moutray serves as the economic forecaster and spokesperson on economic issues for the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).
Prior to joining the NAM, Moutray was the Chief Economist and Director of Economic Research for the Office of Advocacy at the US Small Business Administration (SBA) from 2002 to 2010. He was responsible for researching the importance of entrepreneurship to the US economy and highlighting various issues of importance to small business owners, policymakers and academics. He frequently commented on current conditions for small businesses through professional presentations and media interviews. He has appeared on Bloomberg, CNN, Fox Business, Fox News, PBS Nightly News and Reuters television.
Prior to working at the SBA, Moutray was the dean of the School of Business Administration at Robert Morris College in Chicago (now Robert Morris University of Illinois). Moutray is a former board member of the National Association for Business Economics, where he continues to chair the Manufacturing Roundtable.
