New Global Banking Survey Report

Financial crime is connected.
Are your defenses?

Fraud and money laundering rarely happen in isolation. But for many financial institutions, the teams, technology and investigations designed to fight them still do.

A new global study led by Datos Insights and commissioned by SAS explores how financial institutions are bringing fraud and anti-money laundering (AML) closer together – and what’s standing in the way.

Based on responses from 165 banking leaders around the world, the research looks at the state of fraud and AML convergence (FRAML) today, what’s driving change and where institutions are investing to get a more complete view of financial crime risk.

Obstacles to greater fraud and AML alignment

88% of respondents say organizational silos and separate reporting lines are the primary or major barrier to alignment between fraud and AML.

73% say technology limitations are the primary or major barrier.
