Thorsten Hein

Thorsten Hein has held the title of Business Development Manager Insurance already since he joined SAS in 2004. At the ‘SAS Risk Research and Quantitative Solutions’ department, his responsibilities include global risk management operations for the insurance division with a special focus on the European Union’s recent Solvency II regulations, and increasingly, with similar directives in non-EU countries. With both his deep knowledge of insurance business and of risk management Thorsten Hein has also become a trusted advisor for insurance companies regarding the different aspects of value-based management.

Previously, Mr. Hein has been working for more than ten years for renowned providers of business intelligence solutions. Having started his career at the headquarters of Allianz Insurance in Germany, from the very start his main focus was always serving companies in the insurance and financial industries.

Oana Avramescu

Oana has 10 years of experience in various roles within the insurance, banking and software industry. She was acting as an Advisor on Solvency II subjects for various major insurance companies; Software Development Analyst: IT Solutions for Solvency II, Basel II, Swiss reporting, Italian reporting and Risk Re-assessment Analyst at major European bank.

The fact that she was both a user and a developer of analytical software for the financial sector, has given her both a practical and theoretical approach to regulatory frameworks.

Since joining SAS in 2012, Oana has been focusing on SAS Insurance Risk Solutions and has taken on some particularly interesting challenges by developing the Data Interface for Risk Management for Insurance and helping on Firmwide Risk For Solvency II QuickStart.
