Cox Hall at North Carolina State University (NC State) marks the academic beginnings of SAS, where the Statistical Analysis System was first developed and the company’s foundation was formed.

In 1985, Jim Goodnight issued a company-wide memo redefining the company’s organizational chart with SAS users at the top.

The first building on the SAS campus at SAS headquarters in Cary, N.C. SAS moved from its first office on Hillsborough St. in Raleigh to the current Cary HQ in 1980.

Jim Goodnight and John Sall celebrate SAS earning the No. 1 spot on Fortune's Best Companies to Work for list. SAS topped the list in both 2010 and 2011.
