Agenda

4:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.: Welcome

4:15 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.: Improving your data quality using the SAS DQ tools
(Peter Hobart, Senior Customer Success Manager, SAS)

SAS Viya has robust procedures for analysing and fixing data quality issues. The tools and support for multiple languages are included in almost all versions. They exploit the Quality Knowledge Base, a comprehensive set of lists and rules that enable SAS to (e.g.) intelligently handle misspellings and abbreviations.

SAS Studio Engineer goes further by including steps to generate DQ code through a simple interface, enabling a no-code approach.

This presentation covers:

  • Why data quality matters
  • Examples from the Quality Knowledge Base
  • The supported languages and locales
  • Querying the QKB to discover token types
  • Deterministic vs. probabilistic techniques
  • Key capabilities: Casing, Match Codes, Parsing
  • Creating and using a standardisation scheme
  • Overview of the Studio Engineer DQ steps

4:45 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Break

5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.: SAS Data Maker: Transforming analytics through high-quality synthetic data generation
(Phoebe Ho, Data Scientist & Alina Budnyuk, Data Scientist, SAS)

Discover SAS Data Maker, our cutting-edge tool transforming organisations' analytics through high-quality synthetic data generation.

This session will provide an overview of synthetic data generation and discuss its use cases in various sectors. It will demonstrate how synthetic data can help organisations achieve their business objectives. A quick demo of SAS Data Maker will demonstrate how to put synthetic data generation into practice while ensuring data privacy and superior predictive analytics.

5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.: Pizza, refreshments and networking
