Thomas Hindle

Data Scientist, SAS

Thomas Hindle is a Data Scientist at SAS, working as part of the Customer Advisory team based in Ottawa. Prior to joining SAS, Thomas worked as an Economist at Employment and Social Development Canada and The Conference Board of Canada, working on a wide range of research projects. He holds a Masters’ degree in Economics from Queen’s University and Bachelors’ degrees in Economics and Earth Science from St. Francis Xavier University.


Lorne Rothman

Principal Data Scientist at SAS Institute Canada and National Healthcare lead

Lorne Rothman is a Principal Data Scientist at SAS Institute Canada and National Healthcare lead, with expertise in the applications of Machine Learning, Text Analytics, Forecasting & Statistics to solve real world problems.

As a member of SAS’ Customer Advisory team, he has worked with a wide variety of private and public sector organizations across North America since joining SAS in 1998. He is an accredited Professional Statistician (P.Stat.) with the Statistical Society of Canada.”


Sally Cheung

Customer Solution Lead, SAS

Sally Cheung is an experienced professional with extensive experience in performance measure & reporting, management analytics, and strategy development & planning in the public sector. She holds a Master of Management Analytics (MMA) and has over 10+ years of experience in the public sector, particularly in healthcare data analytics and decision support. Sally has been instrumental in implementing data-driven solutions to enhance decision-making processes and improve business outcomes. Currently, Sally is a Customer Solution Lead at SAS for Ontario Public Service and Government of Canada, focusing on enabling users to harness the power of SAS Viya and helping organizations to optimize their data analytics capabilities.


Dan Finerty

SAS Customer Advisory

Assisting customers with the analytic lifecycle to gain the insights to solve real world problems. Utilizes 4 decades years of experience in all aspects of creating a system to provide the ability to make a confident decision:

  • Data Management to find, access, integrate and prepare the data required to solve the problem
  • Data Science to provide the insight for likely outcomes 
  • Decisioning to automate the process of ingesting relevant data, scoring the data, and recommending the best action to take 
  • Governance of the lifecycle to ensure optimal operation
  • Guiding the adoption process of data driven insights at all levels of the organization

Wesley Girdharry,

SAS Global Security Intelligence Practice

Wesley is a Sr. Systems Engineer with 20 years in applications development and solution delivery & support. He currently assists customers in the public sector around the world to solve their business problems, particularly in the areas of national security and public safety as well as with potential fraud, waste, and abuse.
