SAS Studio and Open Source Integration

SAS is a statistical software package that is used by business analysts to turn data into actionable results. In this hands-on workshop, we will guide you through the SAS Studio interface, teach you how to import and clean data, and generate simple descriptive statistics and graphics. We will also look at how SAS integrates with open-source languages, including R and Python.
 

Effective predictive modeling projects follow the analytics life cycle, from data and discovery to deployment and decisions. SAS Viya provides the capability to perform all these steps from one graphical user interface, making the transition between stages of the analytics life cycle seamless.

In this workshop, you will load data into memory, prepare input variables for modeling and build complex analytics pipelines to demonstrate powerful machine learning models. We’ll then show you how to deploy any model with one click. Then you can save and package the best performing model for deployment while keeping the ability to retrain it on new data – all from the same shared interface. 

This workshop is for users wishing to master PROC SQL in a step-by-step approach.  PROC SQL is a powerful query language that can sort, summarize, subset, join and print results all in one step.  Users who are continuously improving their analytical processing will benefit from this hands-on workshop. Participants will learn the following elements to master PROC SQL: understand the syntax order in which to submit queries to PROC SQL; internalize the logical order in which PROC SQL processes queries; manage metadata using dictionary tables; join tables using join conditions like inner join and reflexive join; and summarize data using Boolean operations.
