About Paul Barnes
Paul Barnes spent 35 years in the oil and gas industry in numerous engineering and leadership roles with Shell Oil Co. and its affiliate Aera Energy LLC. This included technical disciplines in production, reservoir, facility and chemical engineering. Paul led efforts in water flooding, CO2 recovery in West Texas and thermal recovery in California. Additionally, he has enjoyed leadership roles in operations, development, enterprise information architecture, business continuous improvement and innovation information technology.
Most recently, Paul was Aera’s Technology Manager of Innovation. His teams worked on addressing big data and advanced analytical applications in the oil and gas business. He was recognised by Aera as a technical change agent and was keenly involved in moving Aera along its analytic journey with big data.
