Calling all SAS and Python developers! SAS Viya Workbench is designed to help developers "get more done", deliver more value, and work more efficiently. Whether you prefer SAS or Python, discover how SAS is boosting productivity and empowering developers with greater flexibility through a unique experience on SAS Viya Workbench.
With Workbench, Python developers enjoy a true Pythonic environment optimised for performance, while continuing to use their preferred integrated development environment (IDE) and packages. SAS users will also be excited by this new offering. Along with the addition of new machine learning algorithms and synthetic data generation, existing procedures have been optimised for improved performance. Both SAS and Python developers will benefit from self-provisioned, scalable computing with on-demand server sizing to match workload requirements. Finally, an upgrade for coders!
In this guided session, you will:
- Learn about newly included SAS analytics procedures and the latest Python API for SAS analytics, inspired by scikit-learn.
- Discover how you can register your models into the SAS Viya Enterprise ecosystem, blending the best of open source and SAS' robust capabilities for MLOps.
- Get technical information and ask questions of our SAS and Python experts.

To fully benefit from the learning experience, we encourage you to bring your own laptops. A limited number of laptops are available onsite for sharing if required.

Based in Sydney, Yi Jian is in an advisory role where he helps various organisations across Asia-Pacific, in banking and insurance, and government agencies, drive value from their analytics.
Yi Jian advises and provides technical expertise on key topics such as ModelOps, Generative AI, analytics and machine learning, and ResponsibleAI. This includes work such as advising regulatory bodies on how to create transparent ResponsibleAI processes with operational guardrails, as well as experience developing GenerativeAI applications.

In her 25 plus years at SAS, she has implemented analytic life cycle solutions with large banks in Brazil and Ireland, several telecoms in the US and Philippines, a Korean semiconductor manufacturer, and multiple US government agencies to name a few. Her latest adventures include GenAI, SAS Workbench and synthetic data generation.
