SUPPORTING THE Military

Enabling our vets

SAS recognizes the valuable skills and experience veterans bring to our workforce. We honor the service and sacrifice of military families and pledge to support you on your next career journey.

SAS VETS Internships

Veteran Employment, Training and Support (VETS) is designed to provide a valuable work experience to students or graduates who are transitioning from the military into the civilian workforce and have a desire to work in the tech field. The goal of the VETS program is to provide talented veterans with an opportunity to work in a civilian corporate work environment, learn about technical career paths, receive mentorship and coaching, and make meaningful contributions to our organization. If you are currently enrolled in an accredited degree program, serving in the US military, a military veteran or spouse, and are looking for the next step to build your career, the SAS intern program is a perfect fit for you.

Free SAS® Programming for Veterans and Family Members

In partnership with the Institute for Veterans and Military Families, SAS offers two free SAS programming courses at 14 military installations around the US and online. Participants can receive vouchers to sit for SAS certification exams without charge. A study of 54 million employee profiles on PayScale.com identified knowledge of SAS as the No. 1 career skill that translates into salary bumps. In addition, SAS also offers additional education offerings free or at a discounted rate. Read more about these offerings for veterans and their spouses.

Military Networking Event

SAS hosted the Military Networking Event at our global headquarters in Cary, NC for soon-to-be transitioning service members, veterans, retirees, and spouses to hear about SAS - our software, culture, people, and opportunities, as well as network with employee veterans, hiring managers, and industry professionals.

"SAS has a commitment to US Veterans and it shows! The Military Networking event was informative and detailed. Everyone in the networking portion seemed like they wanted to be there and was eager to answer any questions we had. This event speaks volumes to their commitment level! Thank you, SAS."  – Curtis Collins, MSgt, US Air Force

Members of the reserves are encouraged to take care of The Triad: Their family, their civilian employer and the Air Force. I am now lucky enough to work with SAS, an employer that supports its own triad: work, life and duty.

I can't tell you how thankful I am to work at SAS where support for our Veteran community is very real. I had the opportunity to represent SAS at the Enable America Job Seekers Workshop for transitioning service members and families at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The presenters had a chance to be a part of a military tradition as the other speakers and myself were all 'coined' by the Warrior Transition Battalion Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Robins as a token of appreciation. Pro Patria Award

SAS is honored to have been recognized by the North Carolina Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve with the Pro Patria Award in 2007.
