SAS once again recognized among 50 Companies That Care from People magazine

People magazine has again ranked analytics leader SAS in its second annual 50 Companies That Care list. People partnered with Great Place to Work to identify the top US companies caring for their communities, their employees and the world.

SAS is widely recognized for its commitment to give back not only to its own employees, but also to helping the surrounding community through its education and philanthropic outreach.

“SAS is my home away from home,” said Melissa Sears, Office Administrator at SAS. “For the past eleven years, my kids have been raised by the teachers at the SAS child care center and enjoyed the summer camp. We frequent the free on-site health care center and pharmacy. SAS simply makes my life easier so I can focus on my career.”

SAS offers many benefits that help employees maintain a work/life balance, ensuring that they have time to continue developing personally and growing professionally. One way SAS does this is through providing on-site amenities for families, such as summer camps and child care. These offerings give children a way to learn and have fun while parents work nearby.

Other on-site benefits include a health care center and pharmacy, making it easy for employees to take care of their health while balancing work. The free recreation center, subsidized cafeterias and work/life center also draw potential job seekers, as they demonstrate SAS’ commitment to help employees with convenient on-site services to accomplish their personal needs.

“This year’s 50 Companies That Care are taking their great workplace cultures to an even higher level by supporting ALL employees by making sure to include refugees, immigrants, people of color, veterans, women, LGBT and disabled people and their communities through giving back, solving public problems, pro bono work, volunteering and more,” said Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work.

SAS empowers its employees to serve the community while engaging in outreach opportunities as a company. With education as its primary philanthropic focus, SAS supports global education initiatives that promote learning and literacy for all, foster STEM skills and build diversity in the workforce pipeline. Additionally, SAS software is being used as part of the Data for Good movement to help solve economic, social and environmental issues around the world, such as using analytics for natural disaster relief.

SAS is also recognized annually as one of Fortune’s Great Places to Work in the US. SAS has recently received distinctions as a top place to work in IT, for millennials, and for diversity and inclusivity.

Representing feedback from over 4.5 million US employees, the 50 Companies That Care list analyzed employees’ survey feedback on how their workplaces make a difference in their lives and communities, and considered the generosity of each organization's benefits, philanthropic and community support.
