SAS Greece is #1 workplace for second time in a row

For the second consecutive year, SAS was ranked No.1 in the annual list of “Best Workplaces in Greece for 2014” for companies with 20-49 employees. The survey was conducted by the research and consulting firm “Great Place to Work Institute Hellas.”

It is noteworthy that this year’s distinction follows a continuing trend of previous years: SAS Greece’s number one listing in 2013 followed a number two placement 2012, when SAS Greece first joined the Best Workplaces in Greece list.

Said Nikos Peppas, Country Manager of SAS Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria, “This recognition reveals the focus of the company on the human-centric business model, rewarding our continuous effort to maintain employees satisfaction at high levels. For two consecutive years – 2013 and 2014 – we ranked first. Not only do these distinctions make us very proud, they really challenge us to maintain our position on top.

“Our main objective remains sustaining SAS Greece as an appealing company to work for all information technology professionals and data scientists,” he added. “Business Analytics is an area with excellent employment prospects, even in an economic crisis environment. From our side, we will do our best to keep the high standards of the company’s working conditions, to ensure the continuity and prosperity of our global organization.”

More importantly, SAS’ powerful business model must remain strong enough to attract the interest of a highly effective workforce. For SAS, successful hiring is not just a matter of identifying people with proper skills; it encompasses finding and recruiting those who would embrace the culture, the business operating model and the core principles of the company.

Equally important for SAS is “building know-how and expertise” – acknowledging in this way the need of employees to grow personally and professionally. To this end, the company offers a wide range of training, keeping employees’ satisfaction at high levels and contributing to the continued successful performance of the company.

Moreover, effective performance management is vital for leveraging the efficiencies of the employees and the company, as well as ensuring the retention of high performers. The company pursues a strong, dynamic, long-lasting and realistic performance management process, which no doubt reinforces the sense of meritocracy and acting with integrity.
