About the Experts


Maciej Kawecki, PhD - Dean of the Warsaw School of Banking and Of Counsel at the Maruta Wachta Law Firm

Graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Cracow Jagiellonian University, where, in 2016, he defended his doctoral thesis on the EU reform of Personal Data Protection. He also graduated with distinction from the European Academy of Diplomacy and studied at the University of Stockholm and the University of J.W. Goethe in Frankfurt am Main.

From May 2017 till July 2019, Maciej served as Deputy Director and then Director of the Data Management Department at the Ministry of Digital Affairs, where he was responsible for coordinating the personal data protection reform, and shared responsibility for adapting Polish legislation to the requirements of the European Union General Data protection Regulation.

In the 2018-2019 academic year Maciej was Associate Professor at the Warsaw University of Technology. In 2015-2016 he was an expert at the Office of the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection. In 2014-2015 he was CEO at K&K Business and Legal Consulting, focusing on the protection and management of intellectual property of IT solutions in the aspect of personal data. In 2011-2014 he was a Legal Associate at Barta Litwiński Law Firm.

Maciej is a laureate of a special prize in the “Rising Star Lawyers - Leaders of Tomorrow” competition organized by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna and Wolters Kluwer Publishing House for his contribution to the reform of personal data protection in Poland. In 2018, he ranked #23 on the list of 50 most influential lawyers in Poland. In 2019 he went up to #15 for being recognized as "the face of GDPR in Poland". In 2018, he received the Grand Prix Special Award at the Forum of Electronic Media for “Personality of the Year 2018” for his contribution to the implementation of GDPR in Poland. In 2019, he received the "Digital Shapers" award in the category of “Education”, i.e. the Digital Oscar awarded by the Digital Poland Foundation under the auspices of Forbes. Maciej is the author of several dozen publications in the field of personal data security and a co-author of the 2017 commentary on GDPR.


Łukasz Libuda - Principal Business Solutions Manager, SAS EMEA

Łukasz Libuda works on position of Customer Advisory Manager Risk Practice in SAS Institute and together with his Team supports Customers in Poland, CEA and GEE regions.

He is responsible for delivering advisory services including vision development, business concepts creation and risk platform transformation & modernization which maximize ROI and reduce TCO. The areas of his interest are: enterprise risk management with special focus on Assets and Liabilities Management (ALM), financial liquidity management, IFRS9 and Stress Testing, credit and market risk identification (Basel 3/4), IFRS17 and Solvency II for insurance sector and Governance & Compliance area.

His major goal is to help companies to effectively manage risk on enterprise holistic level including conducting stress tests activities and assuring forward-looking risk management approaches compliant with both market best-practices and internal/Supervisory regulations.

Łukasz has graduated from Warsaw School of Economics and was awarded two Master Degrees: 1) Finance and Banking, 2) Quantitative Methods and Information Systems.

Additionally, he has been awarded with “Master Degree in International Management” by Community of European Management Schools (CEMS).


Waldemar Razik - Senior Systems Engineer in the Risk Practice Customer Advisory at SAS Institute

Specialized in organizational resilience development of banking, insurance, governmental and energy sector entities. He provides technology and business process transformation advisory in the Governance-Risk-Compliance area and tailors SAS solutions to the needs and requirements of corporate clients.

He covers the full information technology and advanced analytics stack starting from the process of data preparation (ETL Data), through advanced analytics (Discovery) and ending with the operational implementation of systems supporting decision making and digital transformation (Deployment).

Combines experience gained in risk management in the commercial banking sector, as a banking supervision expert and as a private investor in new technologies startup projects.

In the scope of a pro bono publico engagement, he also supports Higher Education Institutions in improving the quality of education in Information Technology, Computer Science and Data Analytics.
