Optimize and simulate traffic in the Amsterdam waterways
Port of Amsterdam (PoA) currently has enormous amounts of data regarding ships in the Amsterdam harbor and canals. However, they lack specific insights about -but not limited to- emissions and pollution from those ships. PoA sees this as several ‘blind spots’ in their understanding regarding the Amsterdam waterways.
It is important for PoA to create value from their data, which is possible by combining insights and optimization.
The first step in removing these ‘blind spots’ is visualizing the current situation in the Amsterdam waterways. Questions such as, “How much CO2, NOx and particulate matter are emitted, and where?” and “Where are bottlenecks in ships' collection?” should be able to be answered. Finally, PoA wants to optimize the flow of ships through the waterways, while taking their main goals safety, speed and sustainability into account.
We will help them to optimize and simulate traffic in the Amsterdam waterways and help PoA actively shape their policies to reach their goals.
