SAS honored with 2012 National Fatherhood Initiative Award

SAS heralded for supporting parents with resources and flexibility

Business analytics leader SAS has been honored with the 2012 Fatherhood Award from the National Fatherhood Initiative. SAS earned the award for recognizing the important role that fathers play in their families and enabling them to balance work and family effectively.

"The culture of SAS honors the importance of family, work/life balance and enjoyment of the workplace," said Jenn Mann, SAS Vice President of Human Resources. "Creating a culture of happy, healthy, balanced employees drives productivity and allows SAS to remain focused on continued innovation."

Inaugurated in 1997, NFI's Fatherhood Award™ is presented each year to individuals, corporations, and organizations that make a substantial contribution to strengthening involved, responsible and committed fatherhood. Among the over 100 recipients of the Fatherhood Award are: actor James Earl Jones; country music superstar Tim McGraw; former NFL coach Tony Dungy; NBA superstar Dwyane Wade; newsman and author Tim Russert; and corporations such as Johnson & Johnson, Google and Chevrolet.

"National Fatherhood Initiative is honored to present the Fatherhood Award to SAS for its father-friendly workplace policies," said Vincent DiCaro, NFI Vice President of Development and Communication. "SAS' policies – such as paid paternity leave, flexible scheduling and parenting resources for dads – are setting the example of how the workplace can and should accommodate modern dads' desires to be involved in their children's lives."
