Global firms iJET, Feu Vert dig out value with SAS® Data Management

SAS® updates transform data management, speed and simplify processes for companies worldwide

CARY, NC  (13 nov. 2013)  – Companies worldwide know: quality data equals competitive advantage. SAS® Data Management helps many of them improve, organize, and control data – turning data silos into integrated information that allows organizations to make better decisions, faster.

Built to allow business users and IT to collaborate on ways to improve data, SAS Data Management provides access to more data sources, such as Hadoop, PostgreSQL and SAP HANA. And new in-database data quality capabilities within the Teradata platform helps users perform complex data quality tasks using the processing power of the host system. Updates to SAS Federation Server keep data at the source and create virtual business views for low latency access. Other enhancements consolidate integrated workflow and data remediation, enterprise process orchestration, and other capabilities into a fresh, intuitive interface.

Safety in quality data

iJET monitors global threats 24x7 and links these threats to the locations of its clients' travelers, expatriates, and operational assets and facilities. The company's operational risk management solutions serve more than 500 multinational corporations and government agencies to protect people and assets, and meet Duty of Care obligations.

With so many people in motion, iJET creates master data records of information like employee travel overseas, expatriate employee locations and global operational facilities. The company tracks 14 million trips annually. Using SAS to provide that quality data is current and always available, iJET and its clients have the facts necessary to take action day or night, should political unrest, a natural disaster or other emergency situations arise.

iJET turned to SAS to improve data quality, create master records and enforce governance – all while reducing manual efforts and time to action.

Master data management to meet customer needs

"SAS MDM helped us reduce our cost per customer contact," said Marie-Pierre Dussolliet-Berthod, CRM Manager at Feu Vert. Feu Vert is the European manufacturing leader in car accessories and services, with 400 retail outlets in Europe, including more than 300 in France alone. To improve the accuracy and quality of its customer data, Feu Vert selected the SAS Master Data Management (MDM) solution.

"Using SAS MDM, we manage critical customer data from seven sources, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM) and e-business platforms," Dussolliet-Berthod said. "Our new customer hub feeds the quality master data back into operational applications. SAS has improved the accuracy of customer and prospect data so we better understand individual needs. By extending marketing offers tailored to customers, we're growing both market share and revenue faster."

SAS Data Management was also recognized as a Leader in Gartner's latest Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools 1 and in the Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools 2.
