First data visualisation course for senior executives now at capacity

SAS and Macquarie Graduate School of Management stage workshop to help senior executives fast track their way to key business insights

Sydney and Auckland  (20 Jun 2013)  – To help senior executives quickly make sense of the massive amounts of information now available to them, SAS and the Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) have combined expertise to offer a short 'Visualisation' workshop designed specifically for senior executives. The workshop is believed to be the first of its type available in Australia and New Zealand.

Initially planned as a one off, concise visualisation session – to be held at the MGSM's Sydney CBD Executive Conference Centre this month – is now fully booked and due to high demand, further sessions have been scheduled in Sydney, as well as Auckland, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, and Wellington.

Attendees will hear from Macquarie University Director of Strategic Planning and Information, Neil Fraser, on how best practice visualisation techniques can be applied to deliver real business value. Visual analytics can help executives with little or no technology experience explore all relevant data quickly and easily to identify hidden opportunities for business success. The workshop is a taste of what is available in MGSM's Driving Performance Through Business Analytics Program, one of two executive education programs offered in partnership with SAS.

SAS Australia and New Zealand's James Foster said offering the course in a short format and at a CBD location was obviously attractive to time-poor senior executives. "They know that valuable insights can be had from the many sources of data available to them, but ever greater data volumes can make the job of finding those insights seem daunting.

"With visualisation tools (such as SAS® Visual Analytics), however, self-service, ad hoc visual data discovery and exploration put fast insights within everyone's reach. The popularity of this event has been matched by the enthusiasm we have seen with people trying our Visual Analytics software on our demo site at"
