People magazine lists SAS among 2021 Companies That Care
Workplace culture champion is recognized for exemplary employee support and social responsibility advocacy
Analytics leader SAS has been recognized as one of the 2021 Companies That Care by People magazine. Based on survey responses from more than 5 million employees, the list identified the top US companies who are successful at both business and caring for their communities, their employees and the world.
SAS is a pioneer in workplace culture, helping to set the bar that so many companies aspire to today. In addition to prioritizing employee well-being and empowering them to volunteer, the company is committed to giving back to the community through social good efforts and opportunities to use analytics to address humanitarian issues such as combating COVID-19 and data illiteracy. SAS is well-known for helping local and global communities through its education and philanthropic outreach as well as its involvement in Data for Good.
Thanks to a wealth of workplace culture awards and recognitions, SAS has a reputation for a high standard of excellence when it comes to employee support. Even during the pandemic, SAS continued this commitment by implementing virtual offerings – from career development and parenting needs to mental health seminars and exercise classes. Also, other on-site benefits such as the health care center and pharmacy continued to remain open to care for employees and their families – not to mention free online learning offerings for employees, their children and the general public.
“These companies show up for humanity in a variety of ways – from showing compassion for their employees to giving back to their communities to putting diversity, equity and inclusion in the forefront.,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “They are paving the way for more socially responsible business and are fostering high-trust workplaces for all.”
Rankings are based on surveys representing employees’ experiences of how their workplaces have made a difference in their lives and in their communities. The list also assesses the generosity of each organization's benefits, philanthropic and community support, with particular focus on activities occurring in the last year.
SAS is recognized annually as one of the World’s Best Workplaces. SAS also has recently received distinctions as a most innovative company and a top place to work for millennials and women and for diversity.
