Giovanni Bossi, Banca IFIS

Giovanni Bossi - Chief Executive Officer, Banca IFIS

Innovator of the Italian banking system, Giovanni Bossi (Trieste, 1960) has been CEO of Banca IFIS since 1995. Graduated in Economics and Commerce at Trieste University, Bossi was a lecturer in the Science of Finance and Financial Law Department of LUISS University in Rome from 1990 to 1992; he has also been author of essayes about the transfer of taxation from income to wealth and on the revision of the Italian Social Security System. Previously, he was a corporate manager in State-controlled companies and has worked in various groups, even those controlled by European public companies, as well as for Italian enterprises in the activity of setting up and developing industrial and financial activities in Eastern European countries. Giovanni Bossi is Chartered Accountant since 1989 and has been enrolled on the Board of Chartered Accountants since 1992. Sport lover, he is a natural maker of the new way of making banking business. He deeply loves his Country.


Massimo Delledonne, Università di Verona

Massimo Delledonne - Full Professor of Genetics, Università degli Studi di Verona

Massimo Delledonne received his Ph.D. from Università Cattolica in 1994. During 1995/1998 he visited Chris Lamb at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in California, discovering the func4on of nitric oxide in plant disease resistance. In 2001, he joined the University of Verona as Associate Professor of Plant Genetics. Together with his colleague Mario Pezzo, in January 2007 founded the Center of Functional Genomics. This center is dedicated to the development and use of the new tools that the new genomic technologies are offering to microbial, plant, animal and human biologists. Massimo Delledonne is currently Full Professor of Gene4cs (SSD Bio/18). He manages a vigorous research program that emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to understanding plant and human biology. His own expertise is in the areas of genetics, molecular biology and genomics, and collaborates with researchers in diverse fields, including bioinformatics, microbiology and plant genomics, and medicine. He is co-­founder and scientific director of Personal Genomics srl, a spin-­off of University of Verona established in 2011 that operates in the field of human genomics and personalized medicine.


Massimo Delledonne, Università di Verona

Mauro Fanfoni - SVP Marketing and Innovation Europe – Eni Retail Market G&P

Mauro Fanfoni is currently Senior Vice President for Marketing and Innovation Europe at Eni Retail Market G&P with responsibility for advertising, digital, relationship marketing, commodity product development and pricing, technological innovation and new downstream development in such domains as smart energy management and home services. Previously, Mauro was Chairman and CEO at Altergaz (now Eni gas & power France S.A), Paris-based Eni’s subsidiary and new entrant in the French gas market. Throughout the nearly 2 years of his mandate, he led the turnaround of the company and the introduction of the Eni brand on the French residential gas market. In 2010 and 2011, Mauro was CEO at ACAM Clienti and then at Isogas, two Italian local energy utilities, JVs between Eni and local municipalities. Between 2007 and 2010, he played a major role in Eni’s entry into the Italian retail power market and later ran Eni’s Italian retail sales and customer care operations for the 6+ millions gas & power customers in Italy. Before joining Eni in 2006, Mauro had spent nearly 9 years with McKinsey serving mostly financial institutions and utilities. In 2000, he received an M.Sc. in Finance from London Business School.


Marco Fedi, Allianz Italy

Marco Fedi got a degree in Nuclear Engineering, Executive MBA from SDA Bocconi School of Management. After graduation, he began working in consulting at Accenture before joining British Telecom Italy, where he held positions of increasing responsibility. In 2005 he joined Medusa Film as CIO, the role he held also during the M & A operation of Medusa Cinema with Warner Cinemas leading to the birth of The Space Cinema. In 2011 he moved to Milan to begin a new adventure at Allianz Italy, as head of IT development, with the goal of achieving digitization projects of the company; since 2014 he has been the company's CIO. He is 46 years old, married, two daughters.


Stefano Fiorentino, SKY Italia

Stefano Fiorentino - Churn Management & Customer Engagement, SKY Italia

Graduated in Chemical Engineering and with an MBA at Insead, has wide experience in Telecom and Media business.
Starting from 2001 in Boston Consulting and then at Value Partners Management Consulting, advised leading Telcos such as Telecom Italia and Media such as La7 and MTV Italia. In 2007 he joined Sky Italia leading the Business Innovation Direction, where he drove the launch of OTT, namely SkyGo, and important partnerhips for triple play offers with Fastweb. He is now Director of Customer Management and Engagement, responsible for all customer stabilization activities.


Bianca Francesca Granetto, Gartner

Bianca Francesca Granetto - Research Director, Gartner

Bianca Francesca Granetto is Research Director in Gartner's Technology and Service Provider group, where she is Agenda Manager of the enterprise application software market worldwide team. Ms. Granetto joined Gartner in July 1998 and worked initially with Gartner Consulting, moving to Research in the first quarter of 2007. She is based in Milan, Italy. Her research area of focus is enterprise application industry dynamics and the enterprise content management software market, and she covers this from a worldwide perspective. She also contributes to Tech Go-to-Market research, particularly in covering cloud, SaaS, new business models and go-to-market strategies for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining Gartner, Ms. Granetto worked for nearly three years at Accenture, spending her last year in the knowledge management (KM) team for Europe and Latin America. There she developed KM skills and, in particular, was responsible for the implementation of a specific KM strategy that included training and workshops. Before joining Accenture, she worked in Andersen's human resources department for two years and was responsible for staffing projects within the telecommunications portfolio for the Southeast region.


Marco Icardi, SAS

Marco Icardi - Vice President CEE Region, SAS

Managing Director at SAS Italy since 2011, in 2014 Marco was appointed Vice President of the SAS Central-East Europe Region which includes Italy, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Poland. Marco Icardi started his experience in the IT field in 1990 with consultant and sales positions at IBM; then as Large Enterprise Sales Director at SAP. He joined SAS in 1998, covering sales positions in the financial sector, with increasing responsibilities over time including positions as SAS Italy’s Sales Director and Managing Director. A graduate in Civil Engineering 1986 at Politecnico di Bologna, Mr. Icardi won a Masters fellowship at the Georgia Inst. of Technology in the USA and has furthered his qualifications thanks to many international activities. Marco is married with two sons, he enjoys swimming, skiing, reading and is a passionate chess player.


Pierre Philippe Mathieu, ESA

Pierre Philippe Mathieu is an Earth Observation Applications Engineer in the Earth Observation Science & Applications Department of the European Space Agency in ESRIN (Frascati, Italy). He spent 15 years working in the field of environmental modelling, weather risk management and remote sensing. He has a degree in mechanical engineering and M.Sc from University of Liege (Belgium), a Ph.D. in oceanography from the University of Louvain (Belgium), and a Management degree from the University of Reading Business School (UK).


Dino Pedreschi, Università di Pisa

Dino Pedreschi - Full Professor of Informatics, Università di Pisa

Dino Pedreschi holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pisa, obtained in 1987. He is currently an associate professor at the Dipartimento di Informatica of the University of Pisa, serving as the coordinator of the undergraduate studies in CS (Diploma Universitario in Informatica). He has been a visiting scientist and professor at the University of Texas at Austin (1989/90), at CWI Amsterdam (1993) and at UCLA (1995). He has a long-­standing collaboration with K. R. Apt (CWI) on verification methods for logic programming, and with C. Zaniolo (UCLA) and V. S. Subrahmanian (Univ. of Maryland) on various topics of logic in databases. He has been the coordinator of the working group Non-­determinism in deductive databases, jointly sponsored by the European Union and the US National Science Foundation, involving four European and two US universities and research centers. He has been the co-­editor of two books on the subject of the working group. His current research interests are in logic in databases, and particularly in data analysis, in deductive databases, in the integration of data mining and database querying, in spatio-‐temporal reasoning, and in formal methods for deductive computing. He has taught classes on programming languages and databases in universities in Italy and abroad, and is collaborating with F. Gianno in course on data mining at the faculty of Economics at the University of Pisa. He participated in the scientific commitee of various conferences in the area of Logic Programming and Databases, including the LID'96 Workshop on Logic in Databases, where he was program co-‐chair, and the LPNMR'99 Workshop on Logic Programming and Non Monotonic Reasoning, 1999


Riccardo Sabatini, SISSA e EPFL

Riccardo Sabatini - Phd-researcher scientist at SISSA e EPFL

Born in 1981 in Cremona, he obtained the bachelor in physics at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Brescia. After a short internship in the Max-Planck-Institut in Göttingen, he began to work as a entrepreneur for two years, working with private and public companies and developing two patents on high-tech devices. In 2006 he decided to continue his education with a master degree in theoretical physics at Università di Trieste, finished in 2008 "cum laude" and followed by a PhD in theoretical physics at SISSA concluded in 2012. His field of research is focused on new material discovery based on numerical modeling at the atomistic scale, something I do between Switzerland (EPFL) and Italy (SISSA). Riccardo Sabatini is an active developer of the Quantum ESPRESSO project, an open-source code for electronic-structure calculations and materials modeling at the nanoscale; he is also the winner of 2009 StartCUP FVG competition for the most innovative start-up idea; the organizer of TEDxTrieste; co-director at the Master in Complex Actions, business school oriented to young scientists; project manager of FoodCAST, a national research project focus on building quantitative forecasting technologies on commodities markets; scientific advisor and co-founder of The HUB Trieste, a startup accelerator focused on sustainable and highly innovative business ideas; codirector of the Quantum ESPRESSO Foundation, a no-profit activity supporting young researchers around the globe.


Gabriella Compagnone, Sand Artist

Gabriella Compagnone - Sand Artist

Since she attended the Art Institute, Gabriella Compagnone has shown a great interest in the experimental techniques of animation, including the sand, in which she has succeeded in a particularly immediate and instinctive way. In 2009, she was called to participate at "Italia's got Talent", a tv show of Canale 5. She was only 19 years old, but she fascinated the whole nation with her skills, hypnotizing the audience and proving a huge media success. Since then she has become the first Sand Artist in Italy and Europe. She has been guest at many Tv shows such as “ C’è posta per te”, “Domenica in”, "Amici di Maria De Filippi", "Pomeriggio 5", "Glam", "A sua immagine". She created the magical illustrations for "Le Favole della Buonanotte", a children's television show realized by Rai YoYo. Since two years, her performances have taken place during the RAI Telethon, a television marathon against rare genetic diseases. In the summer of 2013, for the first time in Italy, the OLTREMARE natural park of Riccione dedicated its big Imax theater at "Stories of Sand", Gabriella’s show.
