About the Experts


Mr. Naeem Siddiqi
Senior Advisor in the Risk Research and Quantitative Solutions, SAS

Naeem Siddiqi is the author of Credit Risk Scorecards: Developing and Implementing Intelligent Credit Scoring, (Wiley and Sons, New York, 2005), Intelligent Credit Scoring: Building and Implementing Better Credit Risk Scorecards (Wiley and Sons, 2017), and various papers on credit risk topics.

Naeem meets with senior executives and decision makers from between 40-50 lenders globally each year, and provides strategic advice to them on areas such as the development and validation of credit scoring models, credit analytics strategy, infrastructure planning for analytics, and retail credit risk strategy. He has also trained hundreds of bankers in over 25 countries on the art and science of credit scorecard development, and helps credit risk analysts develop better scorecards.

Naeem has an Honours Bachelor of Engineering from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine at the University of London, and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto.


Mr. Varun Mittal
Global Emerging Markets FinTech Leader, EY

As EY Global Emerging Markets FinTech Leader, Varun is responsible for EY FinTech business development in 130 emerging markets across the globe. 

Varun has deep experience in the FinTech domain and is skilled in cross-border management of FinTech operations and business planning, digital banking innovation and strategy, and regulatory strategy development (M&A). His specialization also covers FinTech ecosystem development, FinTech strategy development and implementation, FinTech corporate finance due diligence, and solution development and intrapreneurship. 

Varun holds a Master of Strategy and Operations from National University of Singapore, and a Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science Engineering) from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, India. He is a founding member of the Singapore FinTech Association, the only non-profit FinTech body supported by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.


Mr. Abdullo Akhadov
Head of Credit Risk Modeling, Machine Learning & Decisioning, APAC, SAS

With over 13 years of experience in credit risk management, Abdullo held various positions and fulfilled different roles across several multinational banking groups, including COO for Wholesale and Retail lending. 

Within SAS Abdullo advises financial institutions and credit bureaus on topics related to Corporate and Retail credit process, Credit decisioning, Credit risk modeling, IRB framework. Outside of SAS Abdullo actively mentors FinTech startups under Plug and Play Tech Center, FTAHK, SFA.
