Forbes deems SAS a Best Employer for Women

Analytics leader offers  meaningful work and professional development alongside benefits and balance

Forbes magazine has recognized workplace culture champion SAS as one of America’s Best Employers for Women. As the leader in analytics and AI, SAS understands the importance of attracting, retaining and motivating women – who currently represent more than 40% of SAS’ US workforce, management, and executive positions.

“Workplace diversity, equity and inclusion is more important than ever to drive innovation,” said Danielle Pavliv, SAS Chief Diversity Officer. “Even in our early days, women were part of SAS’ workforce in a male-dominated industry and critical to our business growth. Our commitment to employees – and their families – is part of the reason why we continue to attract and retain top women employees.”

SAS provides a variety of opportunities for career development and professional engagement. Programs including the Women’s Initiatives Network (WIN) and Women in Analytics Network (WIA) enable employees to collaborate with other career-minded members to grow personally and professionally. Additionally, SAS is committed to providing meaningful work to inspire its workforce, including the opportunity to develop software that helps solve critical humanitarian issues like climate change, education equity, fair housing and deforestation.

For more than 40 years, SAS has set the workplace culture standard that promotes an environment for employees to balance their careers and personal lives. In addition, SAS is well-known for its on-site amenities such as a free recreation and fitness center, a free health care center and a full-service pharmacy. SAS employees also benefit from subsidized childcare, meals to go, parenting workshops, lactation consultants, and work/life counselors and seminars. Throughout the global pandemic and remote work, SAS implemented virtual offerings of all its amenities and more to offer employees support ranging from career development to mental health and physical well-being.

The Forbes list was compiled by surveying 50,000 Americans, including 30,000 women, working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. The rankings accounted for representation at the executive and board levels, as well as were initiatives to improve gender equity and recent or unresolved allegations regarding discrimination or misconduct.

A constant on numerous workplace rankings, including Fortune’s Great Places to Work in the US and a World’s Best Workplace lists, SAS is also recognized by Forbes as a top place to work for diversity and one of America’s Best-In-State Employers.
