Innovation deeply rooted in culture to inspire employees' unlimited potential
Jim Goodnight, CEO of SAS, believes that “curiosity is at the heart of human progress”. This belief underpins SAS’s culture of innovation. SAS has led in the data analytics sector since IDC started tracking the market in 1997. Every year, it reinvests twice the percentage of annual revenue into R&D as major tech companies. Last year, in particular, SAS reinvested 26 percent of revenue into AI, cloud analytics and other innovation areas.
Tara Cook, Senior Human Resources Director, GC&ASEAN, SAS, said, “At SAS, the world leader in analytics, our curiosity never stops. Over the past 42 years, we have been uncovering and discovering, innovating and analyzing. In addition to improving current offerings or developing new products and technologies, we always attach strategic importance to talent building, and strive to make innovative breakthroughs in HR strategy. We have been working to create an inspiring working atmosphere, establish a comprehensive talent training and growth strategy that pays attention to internship, job shift, promotion, career development and leadership training. Integrating online resources and offline training, we make full use of open learning platforms, presenting every employee with a variety of career development opportunities, so that they can give full play to their potential, building up capabilities to facilitate the company’s sustainable development while improving their own workplace competitiveness, and ultimately create business values for the industry and customers.”
Improve cohesion through employee care, contribute to social welfare in every charitable work
SAS China also places great emphasis on the health and life quality of employees, helping them maintain a work-life balance and offering all-round benefits, so that they can focus on career development without any worries. In this regard, SAS has been listed among “Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For” each year, and was named “Fortune 100 Best Workplaces for Women” this October. In particular, SAS was once again recognized among “50 Companies That Care” from People magazine this August. All of these honors have fully demonstrated SAS's care for physical and mental health and personal development of all employees without distinction, winning wide recognition from its employees and the public, and strengthening its corporate cohesion.
Focus on youth strategy to keep business vigorous and dynamic
Nowadays, more and more universities and companies have enrolled in the first batch of post-millennials, or Gen-Z. In the face of these new blood characterized by more avant-garde concepts and more active thinking, SAS has implemented a youth strategy offering recent graduates or interns full-time trainings at SAS Academy, and a Certified Young Potential internship program and a variety of other development programs that help them gain theoretical knowledge and put it into practice for in-depth learning.
"SAS sincerely hopes that all employees can grow into their best selves. This year SAS continues to rank among Fortune’s 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials list, because we have provided what Gen-Z employees need for success. At SAS, they have a clear view of their career goals, and are able to continuously improve their comprehensive abilities, adjust their career plans and realize their dreams through various learning opportunities, and ultimately create values for the data analytics industry and the society as a whole,” said Andy Peng, Market Director of SAS Greater China.
Under the vision “to transform a world of data into a world of intelligence”, SAS will continue to innovate in HR strategy to build a more innovative, cohesive, dynamic and excellent company, and achieve sustainable growth in the fast-changing Chinese market, so as to fulfill its commitment to long-term development in China.
