SAS Institute Canada Inc. made it to the 2019 List of Best Workplaces™ for Mental Wellness

SAS Institute Canada Inc. is proud to announce that our organization has been named on the 2019 list of Best Workplaces™ for Mental Wellness. SAS Institute Canada Inc. received this honour after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work®.

In addition to its ranking as a 2019 Top 10 Best Workplaces in Canada, SAS Canada was also recognized as a Best Workplace™ for Women. In 2018 SAS Canada launched the Women in Analytics Network to strengthen diversity in the analytics field. This program leverages the SAS values of authenticity, value for work/life balance and passion to build a community of women, inside and outside of SAS, who work to advocate for women in the field of analytics. The SAS Women in Analytics Network was also showcased as a best practice in joint research by Great Place to Work® and the WE EMPOWER programme of the UN Women, European Union and the International Labour Organization.

SAS Canada was also recognized as a Best Workplace™ for Giving Back in 2019. Offering paid time off for volunteering, SAS empowers its employees to serve the community while engaging in outreach opportunities as a company. With education as its primary philanthropic focus, SAS supports global education initiatives that promote learning and literacy for all, foster STEM skills and build diversity in the workforce pipeline.

The list of Best Workplaces™ for Mental Wellness is based on direct feedback from employees of the hundreds of organizations that were surveyed by Great Place to Work®. The data has a 90% confidence and a plus or minus 5% margin of error.  

To be eligible for this list, organizations must be Great Place to Work Certified™ in the past year and at least 80% of employees must agree their workplace is psychologically and emotionally healthy. We determined the best based the overall Mental Wellness Index score from employees as well as the range and quality of programs which encourage mental wellness.

Great Place to Work® will also release an Employer Guide “Trust as the Foundation for Mental Wellness at Work” in partnership with Sklar Wilton & Associates. This guide explores concrete tips for creating trusting relationships that enable mental wellness at work.
