Meet the presenters


Emily Quinton

Sustainability Director, Summit County, Utah

Emily Quinton is passionate about advancing policies and programs aligned with the County's environmental stewardship, sustainability and climate action priorities. She works with County colleagues, local government partners and community stakeholders to advance and promote clean energy, transportation electrification, sustainable development and other initiatives at the local and state level. As part of the Summit County Health Department, Quinton also coordinates with her public health colleagues to integrate climate change into public health planning and outreach efforts. Before joining Summit County, she worked in sustainability education and workforce development in Oregon and California and as a high school science teacher on the East Coast. Quinton holds a professional science master's degree in environmental science and management and a graduate certificate in energy policy and management from Portland State University.


Dr. Meg Schaeffer, MPH, MPA, EdD

Global Health Advisor, SAS

Dr. Meg Schaeffer is an Epidemiologist and Global Health Advisor for SAS, where she focuses on technological modernization and population health projects in the US and globally. For over 20 years, Schaeffer managed various epidemiology programs in local and state government. She holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, master’s degrees in public health epidemiology and public administration and a doctoral degree. Before joining SAS in 2020, Schaeffer held several executive roles in data quality and acquisition. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Schaeffer supported numerous agencies and organizations in the public health emergency response.


Dr. Hayden Bosworth

Deputy Director of the Center of Innovation to Accelerate Discovery and Practice Transformation

Dr. Bosworth is a health services researcher and Deputy Director of the Center of Innovation to Accelerate Discovery and Practice Transformation (ADAPT) at the Durham VA Medical Center. He is also Vice Chair of Education and Professor of Population Health Sciences. In 2025, Dr. Bosworth and several colleagues launched the 'Innovative Strategies for Addressing Climate-Related Health Challenges Symposium', a collaborative event exploring the intersection of environmental health and public health.
