Three Gold distinctions for SAS at Business IT Excellence Awards 2016

SAS Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria, the leader in analytics and business intelligence (BI) software, was handed three Gold Business IT Excellence Awards in 2016, for three different projects.

Two of the awards were presented jointly to SAS and Analytical View, a top SAS partner, in the "Business Intelligence and Analytics" category. The third went to SAS for providing the business intelligence solution for iKnowHow, anchoring the "Large-Scale IT Projects" category.

In addition to accenting SAS’ superior technology, these significant awards spotlight the expertise and experience of SAS and Analytical View in implementing increasingly complex projects. They are also a testament to SAS’ culture, best practices, and its strategic relationships customers and partners.

The first gold award in the Business Intelligence and Analytics category recognizes the successful Big Data Analytics project in the Network Division of Cosmote. The largest fixed and mobile telephone network provider in Greece, Cosmote chose to expand its collaboration with SAS to enhance the quality of its services. The company used SAS to perform comparative assessments using competition’s data and monitor customer experience at both of its phone networks: fixed and mobile. Through a connection to Hadoop technologies, the SAS offering analyzes and visualizes multiple terabytes of network and customer data, rapidly and effectively. The results help Cosmote ensure the best possible customer experience and continue as a leader in the Greek telecommunications’ market.

SAS’ second gold award recognized the SAS® Text Analytics solution at Piraeus Bank. The Bank analyzes unstructured text data to extract improvement actions for procedures, products, and services. The goal is to better serve customers and improve their experience. The organization focused on free text data analysis and management procedure, creating a comparative advantage through its “Customer Feedback Management” project. The solution was implemented in collaboration with SAS partner, Analytical View. The innovative approach establishes Piraeus as the only Bank in Greece that deploys text analytics technology for internal purposes, specifically, for automating feedback management, improving customer service and enhancing customer experience. Moreover, it employs the only text analytics solution that supports “Greeklish,” the transcription of Greek into the Latin alphabet.

The awards ceremony had a third gold distinction in store for SAS, this one in the "Big Projects" category. The award was granted to the company, iKnowHow, for successful implementation of one of the largest BI projects in Greece using SAS within a public organization. That project uses Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) to upgrade operations for the Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity Department.  In addition to electronic processing and production of administrative information, the project provides access to information and electronic communication – both to citizens and third parties. In addition, it supports electronic transmission of information and documents, with a view to increasing the quality of services.

"All of us, at SAS family, are proud and extremely gratified over these awards. They recognize the skills and efforts of our people and the advanced technology integrated in our solutions. They also validate the strategic partnerships we develop and continually evolve with our customers and with our partners, such as Analytical View."

The award ceremony took place on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso Hotel, an event organized by Boussias Communications.
