SAS Korea and KT Corporation partner in consumer and B2B cloud services

South Korea’s largest fixed-line operator signs agreement with world’s advanced analytics leader to expand cloud infrastructure, services

KT Corporation, South Korea’s largest telecom company, and SAS Korea, a subsidiary of global analytics leader SAS, have signed a memorandum of understanding to partner in the cloud services market. Under the terms of the agreement, SAS will provide analytics software to consumer and business-to-business (B2B) customers seeking cloud deployments via KT’s cloud infrastructure and services.

“We will provide world-class cloud infrastructure and services for our clients here to help them optimize their IT systems and increase business achievements by offering the KT Cloud infrastructure for SAS® Analytics solutions,” said Lee Moon-Hwan, Executive Vice President of KT’s corporate business division. “We will also solidify ties with domestic cloud system and service providers to establish an ecosystem for mutual growth in the information and communication technology market here.”

“Under the agreement, we will be able to extend SAS Analytics to the public and B2B sectors here while lessening our clients’ early investment burdens for hardware infrastructure,” said Sam Cho, Country Manager for SAS Korea. “This partnership enables us to better support clients seeking business data insights using cloud networks, strengthening their analysis solutions and experiences.”

SAS provides advanced analytics designed for diverse use environments, including private, public and hybrid cloud systems. In particular, the company has established partnerships with global public cloud vendors to provide services to clients such as Chinese technology company Lenovo.

KT, a leader in Korea’s cloud infrastructure as a service market, recently established a cloud data center in Los Angeles. This represents a first for a Korean company, enabling KT to expand its cloud service capacity.
