Italian courier service picks SAS® Analytics to optimize distribution
SDA Express Courier has chosen SAS® Analytics to optimize its primary distribution network and minimize operating expenses, all while maintaining high-quality service. SDA, owned by Gruppo Poste Italiane, will use SAS software to improve logistics, manage costs and help boost profits.
SAS Analytics will provide a clear view of business processes throughout SDA's distribution network, enabling the company to identify updates and delivery changes in real time. SDA can increase operational efficiencies by organizing products better, establishing procedures and deadlines for sorting at hubs, and determining the most efficient, timely and cost-effective transportation processes.

SAS' analytics and forecasting tools allow SDA to move from reactive to proactive by better anticipating changes. While logistics flows vary from day to day, SAS helps SDA establish consistent scenarios and anticipate delivery peaks, such as an approaching holiday season.
