Our Featured Guests

Adam Grant
Organizational Psychologist at Wharton, Author of Think Again, and Host of the TED Podcast WorkLife

Think Again: The Power of Knowing What You Don’t Know

Join No. 1 New York Times bestselling author Adam Grant (Give and Take and Originals) and co-author (Option B) to learn how we can embrace the perks of being wrong, harness the surprising advantages of impostor syndrome, bring nuance into charged conversations (e.g., about abortion and climate change), and build schools, workplaces and communities of lifelong learners. As he discusses in his new book, Think Again: The Power of Knowing What You Don’t Know (Viking, 2021), Grant explains that intelligence is usually seen as the ability to think and learn. But in our rapidly changing world, there’s another set of cognitive skills that might matter more: the ability to rethink and unlearn. The global pandemic has forced us all to reevaluate our assumptions. Using bold ideas and rigorous evidence, Grant invites you to let go of views that are no longer serving us well and to anchor identity in flexibility rather than foolish consistency.

Hakeem Oluseyi
Astrophysicist, Former Space Science Education Lead for NASA and Inspirational Speaker

The Stars in My Soul: My Unlikely Journey Through Space and Time

Hakeem Oluseyi, PhD, grew up in some of the roughest neighborhoods in the country. As a result, he spent a lot of time inside, reading encyclopedias and watching PBS nature shows. At a young age, he discovered a love of science and space that was inspired by his role model, Albert Einstein. Throughout his childhood and into young adulthood, he was repeatedly faced with circumstances that would make most people give up – a lack of supervision at home, attending his state’s lowest-rated school, falling in with the wrong crowd, and failing physics exams when he ultimately made his way to Stanford. But Oluseyi never gave up.

Today, as a world-renowned astrophysicist and the former Space Science Education Lead at NASA, he inspires audiences around the world to chase impossible dreams, fight for what they want, refuse to listen to naysayers, and reach out and lend a hand up to those around them. Hilarious, honest and inspiring, Oluseyi wows audiences with a look at his mind-bending scientific research while motivating them with his personal life story. Join us for a fascinating conversation between Oluseyi, and Jenn Mann and Reggie Townsend of SAS.
