SAS® Global Forum 2020

Our top priority is the health and well-being of our attendees and employees. After careful consideration of the evolving concerns around COVID-19, we’ve made the very difficult decision to cancel the in-person conference in DC.

We recognize that canceling our physical event presents some inconveniences to you. We are just as disappointed – nothing replaces the energy you get from being together in one location. But, we are excited to bring you some of the great presentations and sessions you were looking forward to – just virtually. We are working to finalize the details and as more information becomes available, we’ll update this site. We look forward to hosting you virtually for SAS Global Forum!

When will the virtual event be held?

Since March 5 when SAS announced that SAS Global Forum will become a virtual experience, a lot has happened – at SAS and in the world around us. SAS Global Forum is a celebration of how our customers and partners do great things with SAS. Given the disruption COVID-19 is having on the world, we want to be sensitive to the pressing concerns and priorities facing our community. Therefore, SAS will postpone our virtual SAS Global Forum event and update you as soon as possible with new dates.

Why did SAS decide to cancel SAS Global Forum 2020?

Your health and well-being are our top priority. Out of an abundance of caution related to COVID-19, we have made the decision to cancel the in-person SAS Global Forum conference in Washington, DC. Instead, SAS will be hosting an online virtual event during the same time frame. More information about how to participate in this virtual experience will be communicated soon.

Will SAS Global Forum be rescheduled to another date?

SAS will instead be hosting an online virtual event. While we are disappointed not to be gathering in DC this year, we are excited to host an online experience. More information about how to participate in this virtual experience will be communicated soon. Please save the date for SAS Global Forum 2021 in Las Vegas April 19 - 22, 2021.

How will SAS Global Forum 2020 hotel rooms be canceled and refunded?

All SAS Global Forum hotel reservations booked through Conference Direct (the official housing bureau of SAS Global Forum) during registration will be automatically canceled without penalty. There is no need to contact Conference Direct to initiate this cancellation. When making a reservation online, you were required to provide a valid credit card as a form of guarantee. Your credit card was NOT charged; therefore, a hotel refund is not required.

If you did not book through Conference Direct, you will need to personally call the hotel to cancel. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to sas@conferencedirect.com.

How will SAS Global Forum 2020 registration fees be refunded?

All registration refunds will be automatically processed and there is no need to contact the SAS Global Forum event team to initiate this reimbursement. Please note that the refund will be processed and reimbursed within 30 days through the registrant’s original method of payment. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to sasglobalforumreg@sas.com.

What should I do with my travel arrangements?

Travel arrangements made for the event are your responsibility to cancel.

I had important meetings booked with members of the SAS community at the event. How can I reschedule meetings?

Your SAS representative will be in touch with you to make accommodations to reschedule these important meetings.

Will Proceedings still be available for download?

Yes, instructions to access Proceedings will be available on April 3, 2020.

Will presenters still be able to share session content?

We thank all SAS Global Forum presenters who have spent valuable time working on session content. Our content managers will contact you directly to discuss options with you.

I’m a conference sponsor. What does this mean for my sponsorship?

We value our partnerships. Your SAS contact will reach out to discuss options with you.

If my paper is included in the SAS Global Forum 2020 Proceedings, will it be eligible to be presented at SAS Global Forum 2021?

Publishing your paper in the SAS Global Forum 2020 Proceedings will not disqualify you from submitting it as a proposal for 2021. All proposals for SAS Global Forum 2021, 2020 resubmissions and new submissions will be evaluated together and considered for presentation at SAS Global Forum 2021. Papers published in the SAS Global Forum 2020 Proceedings that are resubmitted with additional or updated content will be given priority over those without meaningful changes.
