The SAS Championship Pro-Am

Wednesday, Oct. 7 – Thursday, Oct. 8 | Prestonwood Country Club

RULES AND REGULATIONS

The SAS Championship will strictly adhere to United States Golf Association rules of play and PGA Tour Rules and Regulations. In addition, we have established our own rules and regulations to maximize your enjoyment and maintain fairness for all players.

Competition format
The SAS Championship Pro-Am will be contested under a Texas Scramble format, which means all players hit off the tee and choose the best amateur drive. All amateurs play their own balls from that position through the rest of the hole. Teams comprise one pro and four amateurs. The one net best ball in the group is recorded for each hole. Net par is the maximum that any amateur can take on a hole. Final standings will be determined based on the total score of one best ball in the group over 18 holes of competition.

Pairings and tee times
Each Pro-Am foursome will play based on a scheduled tee time. A PGA Tour Champions professional will be assigned to each amateur team. Amateur teams will be informed of their tee time by Friday, Oct. 2. Please contact Russ.Massengill@sas.com OR Christopher.Vurnakes@octagon.com to confirm your tee time or if you have any questions.

Handicaps
The maximum allowable handicap under PGA Tour rules is 21 for men and 27 for women. Therefore, no handicaps will be granted above those limits. In addition, all handicaps will be verified prior to play. Please provide your golf handicap info when asked during registration. Any players not providing their handicap verifications will be categorized as a “0” (scratch handicap).

Pace of play
The round will be limited to four hours and 45 minutes. This limit will be strictly enforced by the PGA Tour, following its pace-of-play guidelines. Therefore, players who are “out of the hole” should pick up their balls so that play remains efficient.
