In addition to his role at Babson College, Tom Davenport guides IIA’s research efforts and is a research fellow at the MIT Center for Digital Business. His books and articles on business process re-engineering, knowledge management, attention management, knowledge worker productivity, and analytical competition helped to establish each of those business ideas.

Davenport’s “Competing on Analytics” article was named one of the 10 “must read” articles in Harvard Business Review’s 75-year history. He is the author or co-author of nine books, including his most recent, written with Jinho Kim, Keeping Up With the Quants: Your Guide to Understanding and Using Analytics.

Derek Haynie has more than 13 years of systems management experience at FedEx, where he currently leads a team responsible for data systems, reporting strategic measurements to increase aircraft fleet and maintenance reliability and efficiency. He has a history of leading the drive for innovative automation projects for FedEx operations, including the recent implementation of the Air Operations Web Reporting (AOWR) application. This system increases efficiency and reduces costs by providing a centralized reporting portal to evaluate aircraft fleet and maintenance performance.

Mahesh Kumar, PhD, is the founder and CEO of Tiger Analytics, a boutique consulting company focusing on advanced data analytics. Prior to founding Tiger Analytics, Kumar was on the faculty of the business school at the University of Maryland at College Park. He has extensive experience conducting research and consulting in the area of data mining and statistical modeling. He holds a PhD in operations research from MIT and a bachelor's degree in computer science from IIT Bombay (India). He did postdoctoral work in marketing at MIT Sloan School of Management.

Chad Storlie

Prior to his current leadership position at Union Pacific Railroad, Chad Storlie held both marketing and sales roles in the Agricultural Products Group and the Domestic Intermodal Group. In these roles he implemented multiple car load statistical forecast processes.

Storlie worked in marketing for General Electric’s Transportation Systems and Aircraft Engine divisions. He is a retired US Army lieutenant colonel Special Forces (Green Berets).

Storlie is an adjunct professor of marketing at Creighton University in Omaha and the author of two books – Combat Leader to Corporate Leader and Battlefield to Business Success – that teach how to translate and apply military skills to business.

A graduate of the University of Rochester in New York, Nevala has a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in chemical and biomolecular engineering and has written countless articles and books in her career.
